Tim Ulbrich, PharmD is an educator by day and husband, father, and financial nerd by night. He currently serves as an associate dean and associate professor of pharmacy practice at Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED) College of Pharmacy. He received his Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from Ohio Northern University and completed residency training at The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy.
Tim grew up in Buffalo, New York where dreams come to die each year if you are a fan of the Buffalo Bills. He moved to Ohio to attend pharmacy school in 2002 and has been living in Northeast Ohio since 2009 when joining NEOMED College of Pharmacy. Ironically, he can’t get away from cities that have terrible track records of winning football games.
After completing pharmacy school and residency training, Tim and his wife, Jess, had more than $200,000 of non-mortgage debt. Through a self-taught financial education and hard work, Tim and Jess finished paid off $200,000 of debt in the fall of 2015. Tim is passionate about teaching other pharmacists and pharmacy students the tactics that helped he and Jess have a half-million dollar swing in their net worth in just 6 years!
Through this experience of paying off $200,000 in debt, Tim quickly learned that many pharmacists were struggling with mounds of student loan debt and a feeling of being overwhelmed and living paycheck to paycheck despite having a six-figure income. Therefore, in 2016, Tim created the Your Financial Pharmacist blog to encourage a community of pharmacists and pharmacy students that, they too, can achieve a life free of financial stressors.
Tim is the co-author of Seven Figure Pharmacist: How to Maximize Your Income, Eliminate Debt and Create Wealth and has been invited to provide more tha n30 local, state and national presentations on this topic since 2015.
Tim Baker, CFP® is a sworn fiduciary and fee-only financial planner that has your best interest in mind. As a Certified Financial Planner (CFP), he is credentialed to provide the most comprehensive designation with respect to financial planning.
Tim grew up in the great state of New Jersey (seriously) which is known for delicious tomatoes (look it up), the show “Jersey Shore’ which he has never seen and greats like Bruce Springsteen, Bon Jovi, and Tony Soprano. After graduating from high school, he attended the United States Military Academy majoring in International Relations and branching Armor. After having a cup of coffee in the Army (thanks to the medical board :/), he started a career in logistics for a major retailer and the a construction company in Ohio and California. He enjoyed logistics but left that career desiring something more. After months of deliberation, he narrowed it down to financial planning, police work or personal training. While very different fields, the common denominator was a desire to be actively helping people.
In 2012, Tim decided to move to Baltimore, MD to join a small independent financial planning firm where he could learn about the business and earn the necessary licenses and certifications to begin assisting clients in meeting their financial goals.
In 2016, he launched his own financial planning firm Script Financial (www.scriptfinancial.com) where he is actively working to assist pharmacists with achieving financial freedom. As a fee-only CPF(r), he truly has the client’s best interest in mind. As someone who has worked in other industries, he knows what it is like to be clueless when picking out 401(k) investments or feeling uneasy when navigating the complexities of buying a home.
